Supperbook keeps a local kitchen library on your device and automatically syncs supported items through your private iCloud on a new install. These steps cover the most important ways to protect, move, and troubleshoot it.

Protect your kitchen with a complete backup

Supperbook has no Supperbook account or developer server. Private iCloud sync runs automatically unless you turn it off; a complete backup remains an optional independent copy you control.

Back up

Save a copy

Open Local data in Supperbook.
Choose Download complete backup.
Save the .supperbook.zip file somewhere you control, such as Files or iCloud Drive.

Restore

Put a copy back

Open Local data on the destination device.
Choose Restore a backup and select the .supperbook.zip file.
Review the counts and confirm only when you are ready to replace the device’s current Supperbook data.

Restore replaces the current library on that device. Make a fresh backup first if you may need its current recipes or plans.

Import a public recipe page

Link import needs internet access and contacts the website you enter. If a site blocks extraction or hides its full recipe, use pasted text or a screenshot and review the draft before saving.

Photo or text

Read what is already in front of you

Paste copied recipe text or select a cookbook page, recipe card, or screenshot. Photo recognition on supported Apple devices runs on the device. Always check quantities, temperatures, and timing.

Move a collection

In Local data, choose a supported Paprika, Mela, Crouton, Recipe Keeper, CSV, JSON, or recipe-library ZIP file. Review duplicates before committing the import.

A few quick fixes

How do I sync Supperbook between my iPhone and iPad?

Sign both devices into the same Apple Account. On a new install, private iCloud sync is enabled automatically when iCloud is available. In the installed app, open More → Local data, confirm Sync this device with iCloud is on, and choose Sync now on each device to run it immediately. Recipes and kitchen data use your private CloudKit database; app colors and accessibility choices use Apple's private iCloud settings store. Supperbook uses no account or server of its own. Turning sync off keeps the local data on that device.

Can Supperbook recover recipes after I delete the app?

If private iCloud sync completed before deletion, reinstalling under the same Apple account may restore supported items automatically. Otherwise, restore your most recent .supperbook.zip backup from Local data. Supperbook has no developer server copy, and some device-local activity does not sync.

Why did a link import miss an ingredient or oven temperature?

Recipe sites format pages differently, and some do not expose complete recipe details. Open the saved draft, compare it with the source, and edit ingredients, method steps, timing, oven heat, and notes before cooking.

How do I make Supperbook easier to read?

Open the accessibility controls to increase text size, turn on high contrast, or reduce motion. Deliberate pinch zoom is also available on supported screens.

How do I keep the screen awake while cooking?

Open a recipe and turn on Keep awake. The control is intended for active cooking; turn it off when you are finished to conserve battery.

To share privacy-safe device details with a family member, open More → Help in Supperbook and choose Share safe details. Apple’s share sheet lets you choose Mail or Messages and the person you trust; it is not a direct message to the developer, and Supperbook sends nothing by itself.
